MK12 – Tactical Design and Research Bureau

At first glance at the MK12 website you would think that you’d have stumbled upon some sort of secret, Pentagon funded, military research centre, but as you dig a little deeper you find that this is a front and that MK12 is actual a 2d/ 3d motion and design agency who has worked on some of the coolest stuff you’ll see.

Founded in 2000 by Timmy Fisher, Ben Radatz, Matt Fraction, Shaun Hamontree, Chad Perry and Jed Carter who met at the Kansas Art Institute, MK12 has gone on to accomplish great things. Having worked on projects for the likes of Vespa, Coca-Cola, Adidas, Comedy Central, MTV USA, Diesel, EA, The Beatles, and title sequences for Marc Foster movies such as Quantum Of solace, Stranger Than Fiction and music videos such as Common’s – “Go”, they say that they are ‘characterized by a constant re-examination and development of motion, depth and juxtaposition’ and that their ‘unique style best lends itself to explanation visually and viscerally by experiencing the work itself‘ (ref: independent exposure).

MK12 is amazing in it’s intricacy, innovation and vision, their animations lend amazing creativity to obvious hard work and intensity, as well as their tongue-and-cheek sense of humour (expressed in their title: MK12: Tactical Design and Research Bureau) put them at the epitome of brilliance and excellence in their field.
