To Have & To Hold :: a Vinyl-mentary

For years vinyl fanaticism has driven people to all kinds of crazed ends. From the classic, uni-format era of music duplication to houses being filled to the brim with dusty, old collectibles to the DJ-battles in the time when hip-hop had meaning, vinyl records have seemed to represent a movement, a feeling and a mood… a sort of zeitgeist if you will.

To Have & To Hold is a ‘musicmentary’ to celebrate the age of vinyl music, from its conception to the current vinyl records still hold a place very dear to a lot of people.

In this film director Jony Lyle documents the life and times of the vinyl, the different way and methods to people’s vinyl madness and it life-cycle: it is a celebration of the medium featuring interviews with Chuck D of Public Enemy, Questlove of The Roots, Danny Krivit, Bruce ‘Bluenote’ Ludvall and many others..

No word, as of yet, as to when this film is coming out but we’ll be sure to keep you posted, but for now just enjoy this little trailer:
