CrashCar show no signs of burning out!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned how impressed I was with how far SA rock music has come with regards to production value when it comes to music videos and ‘ Twisted ‘, the  new video from CrashCarBurn is no exception. I must state however that this band has done much more than create killer vidz since their debut single ‘Serenade’. In my opinion, in the last few years they have cemented themselves as without a doubt the most commercially viable rock band in South Africa (‘Twisted’ being the final building block) as far International standards are concerned and are arguably the best we (SA) have in power-pop/rock genre (screw the Parlotones).

You can not deny that these guys do not sound at all South African!  This is a good in a sense because if you do want to make it in a country like the USA you need to have a sound that the American music consumer can identify with, take the way Seether modified their sound for instance.

The boys created the band in London in 2006 and they made such a noise they were in the studio just over a year later. The group’s debut album, ‘This City Needs a Hero’ released in 2007 was recorded and produced in London’s Miloco Studios by the Grammy nominated team of Colin Richardson and Matt Hyde. Their latest album ‘long live tonight’ is in the launching process but it looks like its going to do very well as there seems to be a lot hype surrounding it.

All in all their a band to watch, its only a matter of time before their headhunted by some big UK or USA producer, lucky bastards.
