They’ve been in hiatus for 2 years, but  the best thing to come out of  Wales since  Anthony Hopkins have  a  #1 album, a new single and a rocking music video and so far its all looking good for thrash metal band ‘Bullet For My Valentine‘.

Since the release of the album ‘Fever’ some months ago there has been little news of  Bullet other than some mixed, but mostly positive reviews. This all changed however with the release of their first music video ‘Your Betrayal’ as since then their album has peaked at  #1 in two countries (2 album charts in USA) as well as reaching the top 10 in eight others. (its ridiculous what MTV can do for a bands popularity not that its without just cause!)

‘Your Betrayal’ is the way every person who hates mornings (90% of the global population)  should start their day. With one solid minute of military drumming followed by four minutes of  passionate, pain fueled vocals from Mat Tuck describing how life, love and his mind has betrayed him, how could you not wanna get out of bed and kick your 9 to 5 in the fucking ass!

Very similar in style to Scream, Aim and Fire but die hard fans fans have said that it lacks the rawness and aggression of their first album ‘ The Poison’ . It definitely isn’t as hard but I like the melodic tendencies of their later stuff as it allows for more power when the climax’s kick in!

When I watched the video for the first time, I thought “Its cool but we’ve seen the fire tactic a hundred times “..But the more I watched it the more it grew on me, look out for the cutaways showing the seven deadly sins, I wonder if the whole idea behind it is that their performing a kind of hell??  All in all its quite dark and twisted…just the way I like it.
