Who The Hell Is :: André?

It’s Thirstday,

We’ve almost made it through the week but today is a day for sipping and I can tell you where I’ll be doing that tonight, at the André x Feiyue launch. Now some of you may have been noticing my sadness because it seems this ultimate shoe collaboration has been sold out in my size, I am emotional about it and thus I shall have to go drinking later.

It did occur to me though that while some of you out there know and love André, there are others asking “who the fuck is Andre?”, they’re thinking that they used to know an Andre back in Stellenbosch but that’s probably not the same guy. For those of you who are confused but too afraid to ask I’ma lay a little about him on you and hopefully spread this shoes colab excitement a little further.

André aka Monsieur André aka Monsieur A, is a French graffiti artist who started painting back in 1985. He became famous in the late 90′s with Mr A, a cartoonish character with a round head, a cross and a circle for his eye. He is part of the early parisian graffiti scene along with Invader and Zeus (so in a nutshell he’s kind of a big deal). André was formerly married to French/American electro artist, Uffie (well I actually thought they were still married but seems maybe not?).
