Some cool electro/dubstep to get us amped up for the party. Hyphen, Lark, Mr. Sakitumi, and Mix n Blend!!
    :D

  • Caley Garden

How’s about a hip-twisting-knee-slapping-jam with the Holiday Murray boys and some live acoustic Jirey??

  • Chelsea

I think Bounce FT. Dr Dre, Missy Eliot & Justin Timberlake – Timberland Would be the most perfect first song as that fresh train rolls out of Cape Town station as it is one of those rather corny old tracks but every time you hear it you A) Want to dance and B) get extremely amped about life! And what better way to start off a great day filled with the best local music and loads of sun and alcohol!
    Lets party :)

I reckon live music from an upbeat band like Captain Stu, Little Kings or 7th Son would be cool, with bongos and tambourines.

Followed by Dave Ferguson or Jeremy Loops starting at about Kalk Bay :)

  • Lisa Huang

Since the party is going down at the Old Cape Farmhouse, it is only fair to include some of the best local “Cape” music!!

How about TRIBAL ECHO (www.tribalecho.com/) for fusion, folk-soul, rock-hop and Afrifunk music? Sure to heat up the paaartaaay!

Even though I don’t speak Afrikaans, I really enjoyed RADIO KALAHARI ORKES, where the music came out of the working class, whose heroes were miners and railway workers!!

Can’t wait to go for Sowing the Seeds!! Hope to win some tix ;)

  • Kate

I think it would be a great idea to play a mix of all the best songs from the performers on the day! Its all about great expectations, and being proud of South African music! Its going to be the best day ever! Since its my birthday! Can’t wait!

  • Richard

Only one way to warm up for a party:

    James Brown.

Jam out some funk soul to fit the retro train ride.

  • lizzy

I reckon some balkan beats as well as some local artist cameo’s would start this party off in the right direction all the way to the farmhouse adventures! Perfect bday present too.. Just saying :)

  • wezley

i reckon they should play a mix of some local African bands to get the vibe going, with taste of the bands that are going to be playing at sowing the seeds just to give everyone an idea of what to expect and to get everyone amped..

  • lolly

Mr Loops & Trak on the Daisy Train pleeease! No better way to bounce into Simonstown sowing and swinging and swaying and singing <3

  • Ezra

some of the bands that are performing music and genres like it

  • Misha

Gypsy-head-groovin’-beat-boppin’-balkan-Toby2shoes and some Funafuji type-esque beats would be jaaaammin’.
Incorporate some train surfing for a spice’a'danger Yknahmsayin’?
And then when we get there all grooved up. We swing our legs and bump around to Hot Water.
    Groovy.

  • Ashlea

Would love to hear some Dubstep or Balkan beats and definitely aKing and Jeremy Loops:) Ah, would LOVE to win tickets to watch all these amazing bands!

    No no no no no…

You guys have it ALL wrong… surely, with so many hours of great music ahead, the train should be a space to meet new friends and share the musical love, by passing a guitar around each compartment and having a little impromptu, sing-song of whatever the guitar player knows? #justputtingitoutthere
