Aled Lewis loves the pixels! So much so that this, his second time featuring on the site [click], is called “Make Something 365″ and is all about the video game character heroes of the 8bit variety. Aah, the days of good old fashion bleeps and blurps gaming. When you spent days of your life trying to get past a crack in the ground, over an object that was heading in your 2D direction or up a ladder…

Here at Dont Party labs we’re always running experiments to see how we can make your life a little bit more fun and interesting. We’ve always enjoyed a bit of alcohol here and there, so we decided to run a small experiment – What do our favourite drinks looks like under the microscope?

[Any of you a tad slow on the draw, we didn't do any of this, the Florida State University performed the experiment but we certainly wish we had]

Kidrobot x Swatch

Swatch has teamed up with Kidrobot, to create Kidrobot for Swatch, a collection of eight watches, each accompanied by a complimentary Dunny. The range features some amazing artists such as Gary Baseman, Jeremyville, Frank Kozik, Joe Ledbetter, MAD, Tara McPherson, SSUR, and Tilt. The range looks amazing and will be released soon, whether it hits South African shores is another question entirely, let’s hope it does. Check it out below.

The Amazing World of 100

This may be slightly old and some of you may have seen it, if you have, well done! I stumbled across this today and thought it was pretty amazing, so I thought I’d post it for those of you as unaware of it as me. The World of 100 is a series of posters that visually represent various statistics about the world if it were a village of 100 people. Its pretty amazing when you see the statistics represented in such a simple manner.

The World of 100

If the world were a village of 100 people, how would the composition be? This set of 20 posters is built on statistics about the spread of population around the world under various classifications. The numbers are turned into graphics to give another sense a touch – Look, this is the world we are living in.

Kidrobot ‘Killjoy’ 20′ Dunny by SA’s very own Kronk

South African designer Kronk, who has been featured on the pages of Dont Party numerous times has unveiled an awesome new Dunny design for Kidrobot. This time around it’s a limited edition 20-inch Killjoy Dunny that will be hitting stores on June 30th with a price tag of $400. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye for it!

Ever Wondered what the CEO of Nike’s Office looks like?

When you imagine the offices of some of the world’s most powerful CEOs there’s a standard image that one usually pictures. That image was recently shattered for me by the images below of the CEO of Nike, Mark Parker’s office. The space is packed with decades of art and sneaker related memorabilia, that he has collected over 30 years at the helm of Nike. The visuals were taken as part of a special feature on the Nike CEO for Whitewall Magazine and a were accompanied by a rather candid interview with the man himself. You can buy the issue here.

The most expensive Skate Deck ever*

The title of this post may be a bit deceiving, seeing as we have no way of confirming that this is in fact the most expensive skate deck ever but hey a skate deck worth R17k is pretty much the most expensive we’ve seen to date. The deck shown above was created by Greg Hervieux, the founder of BKRW and BLACKRAINBOW who has become synonymous with designing original skate decks that are good for pretty much anything but skating. He previously teamed up with Domeau & Pérès to design this leather covered skate deck and now he’s gone and done it in gold.
To create the decks he enlisted the help of some of the finest craftsman at French luxury house l’Atelier Antoine PALOMARES who covered the decks in the finest 22-carat gold leaf. Each deck is priced at a cool €1490,00 (approximately $2,145 USD) and can be ordered exclusively through info@bkrw.com. Don’t expect to be able to actually use the thing seeing as it comes in a plexiglass box to prevent oxidation and damage, clearly it’s a collectors piece designed for anyone but your average skater….
