For those who rely on a heavy sneaker rotation and frown upon wearing the same pair twice in a month, check out this great art gallery of the Air Max 1-A-Days created by visual craftsman Matt Stevens.

Matt started his Air Max 1-A-Days project a little over a month ago, creating a new awesome Nike Air Max 1 design every twenty-four hours, and he’s decided to extend its duration as long as his ideas are fresh. He’s taken inspiration from the simplicity of the OG Air Max 1 to the hustle and bustle of New York City taxi-cabs -but how many of you can pinpoint the Voltron-inspired colorway? Designer Jamie Bolton created some awesome minimalist concept movie posters, an they’re pretty sick. He’s taken iconic films and found an extremely minimalistic viewpoint and run with it.

Dig to hear your thoughts on them, some are clearer in concept than others, such as The Shining Poster (The Carpet in the Hotel the kid rides over) and The Jurassic Park poster (the shaking water cup) but if you look closely you should be able to work them all out.

Indonesian illustrator and graphic painter, Arkiv, has a flair for remixing popular cartoon characters and re-appropriating them with his own menacing twist. He has been crafting these curvaceous designs since ’05, and released his signature vinyl toy, Arkiv Instant, in mid ’09. The initial version was limited to 42 pieces worldwide, one for the heads.

“I’m a half animal and half dream. I’m a blend of an overweight panda and Killer whale. I eat kids and I drink blood. I’m instantly rude and 100% dirty. I sleep longer than any creation the world has ever seen, I sleep like a dead hero and no star. I talk rubbish and my breath smells like it.”

His aesthetic has often been compared to the critically acclaimed pioneer of the art toy realm, Kaws. But due to the ever changing world of art, and seeing as many of his figures are new combinations of classic cartoon elements, it is debatable which works are truly original, and which are ‘original fake’. He has also recently been commissioned by Disney Asia to redesign Mickey Mouse.

This relative newcomer shows a lot of promise, and according to his weblog, he has a number of interesting collabs and exhibitions in store for ’10. Keep your eye[s] peeled.

We saw a post on between 10 and 5 about Jack Parow and some of his poster designs done for his new EP, Cooler as ekke (See Video Below), and if theres one thing we at Dont Party dig it’s music + rad design. Check the posters below. After seeing the posters we decided to start investigating Jack Parow a bit, we’d heard of him but never seen him much like the elusive Nessy.

We found him on Facebook and were amazed to see he has 7433 fans, not bad going. His music can be described as Afrikaans gangster rap, and his style is fresh out of Krugersdorp and we’re talking about the backend of Krugersdorp with a dash of Benoni and a sprinkle of Germiston. No sugar and spice and all things nice (See pic below)

We started listening to some tracks and found them getting stuck in our heads, its the sort of music you listen to once and think WTF is this oke serious but by the 5th repeat your bopping your head and singing along. Check this MP3 link at Cherry Flava

Yeah well that was interesting, quite a character. We’re definitely going to be keeping an eye on old Jack parow.

We all get invited to a couple of hundred events every week on Facebook some are cool and some are terrible. You can tell alot about an event from its poster or Facebook artwork. We went through a lot of our invites for the last few weeks and found some of the good ones and some of the not so good ones. Obviously we through our Dont Party artwork deserved a spot so we placed it in its very own biased section.
