It”s no secret I”m the resident Dont Party Apple fanboy, I”ve posted a few times about various Apple products and my undying love for the brand. I was of course pretty bleak to hear about the inevitable resignation of one of the greatest innovators and CEOs of our time, Steve Jobs. I can safely say if there is one male I would openly admit to having a slight man crush on it”s Steve, he”s resurrected a once flailing tech company into what was recently if not briefly the most valuable company in the world. He has revolutionized industries by creating innovative and beautiful products people often thought were impossible.
Hours after Jobs announced his resignation, Tim Cook, casino poland 50, was announced as the new CEO of Apple Inc. Cook isn’t new to the position as he spent a short spell running Apple back in 2004 and 2009 during Steve Jobs’ absence due to medical reasons.
Jobs had this to say:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
apple, Steve jobs
I”ll still undoubtedly be buying Apple products for some time to come but it”s an interesting time for the company as it sees it”s founder and prodigal son move on. Hopefully Steve stays around for a while and manages to get his health in check. All the best!
