Deadbeat FM :: When I Get Outta Here

Deadbeat FM, an awesome new minimal- tech outfit making waves both locally and internationally, are no stranger to Dont Party ,we’ve done two previous posts on the dynamic duo out of Johannesburg, South Africa. Our last post was about the new outfit making the shortlist of 14 artists in a massive global competition run by LOT49 the UK based record label responsible for such artists as Timo Mass, Meat Katie, Dylan Rhymes, Lee Coombs, Dopamine, Kid Blue, Vandal, Odissi and many more. Pretty serious stuff, the competition is basically a search for new up and coming artists and over 1500 tracks were submitted, and good old Deadbeat FM made the cut and now the New Lot album has been released!

One of the 14 shortlisted artists on the New Lot compilation stil has more in store, and will be offered a three EP deal on Lot 49, mastered at London’s Wired Masters studios with Kev Grainger (Steve Angello, Bjork, Gilles Peterson) plus a heap of software prizes. The winners will be announced on February 22nd 2010. We’ll keep you informed about Deadbeat FM’s progress in the competition

What LOT 49 had to say about the new compilation

Many of you may be aware of the competition we ran back in November 2009 to find the hottest production talent out there.

We had an amazing response from up and coming producers worldwide exemplified nicely by the spread of countries represented in this 14 track compilation – UK, France, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and last but certainly not least Romania.

In true Lot49 style this compilation dips into a whole range of genres but still retains our distinctive techy edge and funk sensibilities.

So without further ado its our pleasure to present to you… the NEW LOT.

So here it is the track by Deadbeat FM “When I Get Outta Here” released on LOT 49 (UK) the first South African single released on the UK label and an awesome achievement for Deadbeat FM. We also have the CD for your listening pleasure below. We expect big things from these guys in the future and will keep you informed with their progress
