Ok ok ok, we know everyone’s facebook homepages have been clogged with volcanic ash, and are sick of hearing about the damn thing, but we just decided to give you some of the essentials and share some of the MENTAL pics that just fell into our lap.

Here goes:

• Eyjafjallajökull erupted mildly on March 20 this year and then again on April 14, the first activity since it last erupted in 1823
• Up until yesterday [21 April], Eyjafjallajökull has been spraying ash and smoke 10km high and right across Europe to the Baltics, causing all commercial airspace in Europe to be suspended for longer than 9/11
• In total this time, she has spewed out around 140 million cubic meters of volcano materials [100 million airborne], which equates to 750 tonnes per second since the beginning of the eruption
  
• Also it has been hurling chunks of molten rock the size of cars up into the air, and collisions of volcanic dust have caused extreme cases of lightning and black dust
  
• Its 1250°c lava is still bubbling and causing earth tremors
• Eyjafjallajokull is located 19km away from its big sister, Katla
• Katla is 10 times the size of Eyjafjallajökull
• It is suspected that Eyjafjallajökull throwing her shit around could easily trigger her big sister to do the same [the last 3 times Eyjafjallajökull erupted, Katla followed suit]
• Katla is located under one of Iceland’s largest glaciers, and seeing as Eyjafjallajökull already caused flash floods and icebergs the size of houses crashing down her banks, you can only imagine the devastation this big mama could cause
