The Bloody Beetroots have finally taken to the stage as a LIVE electronic dance act. The term live in electronic music in synonymous with the artists looping or effecting their on music through a digital medium, but live, referring to the Beetroots’ electronic performance, is now used as the way that you’d refer to a band’s stage perfromance.

With a drummer, a vocalist, a guitarist and a dude on the effects, their performances have now breached the realm of what electronic music is usually defined as.

They have dominated dance floors the world over including those on our own South African shores, when they left Cape Town and Johannesburg screaming for more!

Dont Party got to ask the extremely busy Bob Rifo of the Bloody Beetroots a few questions, and here what he had to say.

Its been a busy time for the Italian electronica and dance music duo The Bloody Beetroots, they recently launched a preview of Domino a short film they will be launching on the 23rd of March, watch this space as we will bring it too you if and when its available online. (see ourpast post here)

Now they’ve just launched a new music video through Universal Italy, for the single, “2nd Streets Have No Name” off their debut LP Romborama released in 2009. Now the video on Youtube’s description was in Italian so we had to do our best translating it to English this is what it said

It may seem a bit weird but that was just Google translate doing it thing

The Bloody Beetroots are awesome, there no denying that. They rocked South Africa to the ground when they came here, it still goes down as one of the greatest acts/parties I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. So I make sure I keep tabs on the Italian duo, and they have a new live act titled ,”Death Crew 77″ and they’ve just launched a new video a few days ago and we’ve found it and its pretty amazing.

The video has the feel of an old War Epic and as they put it “DOMINO is also a revision of history. DOMINO destroys Nazi iconography to turn into Anarchy… pure ANARCHY.”. We thought the video was absolutley insane and enjoyed it alot!.

What they say about the video

The name “DOMINO” comes from a typical Venetian Carnival costume, a robe with a black hood and a white mask. I have chosen this title to introduce the first BBDC77 anarco-musical army.

DOMINO (like Xmas Vendetta) underscores the contents of ROMBORAMA. DOMINO is part of ROMBORAMA… DOMINO is a spare of ROMBORAMA.DOMINO is music,cinema & photography.

DOMINO is also a revision of history. DOMINO destroys Nazi iconography to turn into Anarchy… pure ANARCHY.
I live in this world and I firmly believe in the autonomy and freedom of the individual.

DOMINO will come out on 23rd March, anticipated by the short movie I have made for you.
